As a course instructor and research supervisor, I am glad to support my students by providing academic or professional recommendations.
However, due to the large number of requests I receive, I can only write recommendation letters for students whose work I know well and whose performance meets the criteria outlined below.
I am pleased to provide recommendations for students who meet one or more of the following conditions:
1. Coursework Performance
You have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate course under my instruction and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.75 (on a 4.0 scale).
2. Thesis Supervision and Research Publication
I have supervised your undergraduate or postgraduate thesis, and the research work has resulted in a publication (or is currently under review) in a peer-reviewed journal or conference.
3. Collaborative Research Projects
You have participated in a collaborative or independent research project with me (outside regular coursework or thesis) that has led to a co-authored publication.
If none of the above conditions apply, I regret that I do not have the capacity to provide a recommendation at this time.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, please send me an email request that includes the following information and attachments.
1. Student Information
Your student ID, academic session, and course number (if the recommendation is based on coursework).
Your thesis title or project title (if based on supervision or research collaboration).
2. Supporting Documents
A copy of your official marksheet or transcript showing your relevant grades.
A link to your published or submitted research paper (if applicable).
A draft letter of recommendation in Microsoft Word or Google Doc format.
3. Guidelines for Draft Letter
Keep your draft concise and specific, ideally within one page.
Explicitly mention your quantitative achievements (e.g., GPA, publication record, awards).
Avoid including statements that I cannot personally verify or attest to from our academic or research interaction.
Clearly specify the purpose of the recommendation (e.g., graduate school, scholarship, or job application) and any submission instructions or deadlines.
Please submit your request at least two weeks before the deadline to allow sufficient time for review.
Ensure that all information provided is accurate and complete.
Submitting an incomplete request or failing to meet the eligibility criteria will result in the request being declined.
