The Rubicon Methuen, London, 1894. Published in two volumes (a one volume edition appeared later the same year). Dark green cloth with lettering in gilt to front cover and spine. Frontis. by Reginald Lister. The first one-volume edition states 'fourth edition' on the title page, this is wrong as the first printings in 2-volumes were actually just one edition. All copies have a catalogue at rear dated October 1894 and advertise the new 4th edition.

The Judgement Books Published by Osgood, McIlvaine & Co & Harper Brothers in the US in 1895, like The Rubicon it was not well received by critics, with elements of 'Jekyll and Hyde' as well as 'The Picture of Dorian Grey'.
