Private High Schools (ISEE)
To apply to private schools in Chicago such as The Latin School, Francis Parker, or University of Chicago Lab School, students must sit for the ISEE (Independent Schools Entrance Exam).
There are multiple test dates available in Chicago throughout the fall and winter. Families should contact specific schools to learn their deadlines for receiving ISEE scores.
For more information about the ISEE, visit the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) website.
Content and Timing of the ISEE
The test has five sections, and it moves rather quickly. Students are encouraged to pace themselves appropriately.
Most schools do not necessarily expect students to achieve scores in the highest percentiles. Students are often admitted based on ISEE scores in and around the 70th percentile.
