Listserv and Membership

How to join the EESG:

Membership in the EESG is tied to your AAG membership. When registering for AAG membership, you will be prompted to select any additional specialty group, affinity group, or community of practice memberships you may be interested in joining. Please note that the EESG charges a small membership fee ($1 for students, $10 for non-students) in addition to the cost of AAG membership. The EESG uses these fees to support programming, such as our annual awards.

If your AAG membership is set to automatically renew every year, you will still need to remember to manually register for membership in specialty groups like the EESG. 

To do so, log in to your AAG account and navigate to your AAG Dashboard. In the center of the page should be a section called "My Communities." Click "Add a Group" and follow the prompts to select the specialty groups, affinity groups, and communities of practice you wish to join.

How to send and receive emails on the EESG Listservs:

The EESG runs two listservs: the EESG Knowledge Community and the EESG Google Group.

EESG Knowledge Community:

When you register as a member of the EESG when you renew your AAG membership, you are automatically added to the EESG Knowledge Community.

There are two ways to send a message to the EESG Knowledge Community:

A. Log into your AAG account on aag.org. 

1. 1. You should land on your dashboard; otherwise, hover over your account icon in the top right and click "My AAG Dashboard." 

   2. At the top of your dashboard, it should list your "communities." Click Energy and Environment.

   3. Select the "Discussion" tab, and click the green "Post New Message" button.

B. Find the last email from the EESG Knowledge Community in your inbox. 

1. Under the "AAG Knowledge Communities" header, there is a link that says "Post New Message." 

2. Click it and it will auto-populate the email address into a new message, and then write an email as you would normally.

EESG Google Group:

The second way  to receive EESG communications is to join the EESG Google Groups. You do not have to be a current AAG member to join this Google Group.

To send an email to the EESG Google Group, click this link. Click "New Conversation" in the upper left corner, and write the email as you would normally.
