Yeow Hwee Chua is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where he is Deputy Director of the Economic Growth Centre and a Faculty Affiliate of the Global Institute of Finance, Technology, and Society (GIFTS). He is also serving as Honorary Secretary of the Economics Society of Singapore.

His research focuses on household finance, behavioral macroeconomics, and public economics, with an emphasis on understanding economic behavior from micro-level decisions to macroeconomic outcomes. He studies how households form expectations and make financial decisions, how information and uncertainty shape economic behavior, as well as how households and financial institutions respond to economic shocks and public policy. His work draws on administrative and experimental data alongside theoretical models to investigate these questions.

Prior to joining NTU, he was a Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford Graduate School of Business. He received his PhD in Economics from the National University of Singapore and his MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a CFA charterholder.
