About

Yeow Hwee Chua is an Assistant Professor in Economics at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He is also the Deputy Director of the Economic Growth Centre at NTU and the Honorary Secretary of the Economics Society of Singapore. 

He brings together behavioral macroeconomics, household finance, and expectation formation to study how individual beliefs and financial decisions shape aggregate economic dynamics and financial markets. His research applies this perspective to insurance, credit, housing, and savings markets, with a primary empirical focus on Asian economies.

Prior to his current appointment, he was a Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the National University of Singapore and an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
