Summary

I am a trained econometrician with expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning, and I hold a PhD degree in finance from Durham University. I have experience in building and leading a 60-member comprehensive team that developed exciting data-driven applications. Over the past 10 years of my professional career, I have worked with three private organizations in the data science domain, gaining valuable experience on exciting data science projects. Below, I am highlighting a few selected projects that I initiated and led from inception. 

• Credit underwriting and monitoring: Played a key role in developing the Cyclops underwriting engine for farm finance. Designed the underwriting model for JLG loans and created an economic stress model to monitor the health of district-level economies. 

• Strategic Enrollment Platform: This product aims to streamline student enrollment at college campuses by utilizing data-driven decision-making. It caters to the recruitment needs of small and medium-sized private universities, assisting the admissions office in prioritizing inquiries and applications, and developing a merit- and need-based student personalized grant recommendation system. Over the years, the product has not only improved student enrollment but also enhanced the net tuition revenue of the universities.

• Marketing Mix Modeling: My team, under my leadership, served as a modeling vendor for the second-largest marketing research company. 

• Policy Research Papers: Using the real user data from India’s largest fantasy sports platform, I have written a policy paper for the Federation of Fantasy Sports to statistically show the preponderance of skill in determining the outcome of such games. In another policy paper, I examine the impact of government regulations on investment in India's e-commerce sector.

•  Developed for an Indian financial market broker, this product classifies financial news fetched from company declarations at BSE and NSE (Indian financial stock exchanges) and news aggregators. The clean UI and directional association with scripts facilitate better news consumption for investors and traders.

• Demand Forecasting for a Healthcare Equipment Manufacturer: Developed a demand forecasting model for a global healthcare equipment manufacturer, providing regional forecasts for around 62 product lines. 

• Event Marketing for a Global Event Organizer: My maiden project in the industry involved learning from cookie data about user interests and marketing sessions in upcoming events. I designed a model to develop an interest score for users using keyword matching in the early days of NLP. 

As an industry leader, I believe my strength lies in developing a technologically sound development team on a modest budget while delivering products that meet global standards from India.
