Please register in MyEconLab (or apply for a temporary account) using your email address. Do keep track of your username and password. Do not use multiple accounts at a time.

Problem sets will be assigned here roughly every week. Deadlines are firm. Late homework gets no credit. Once submitted, you can expect a graded assignment with immediate feedback. Practice sets may be done an unlimited number of times. You may submit each problem set up to 3 times; I will keep the highest grade. Do not wait until the last minute to submit the assignment.

Group Research Projects Requirements

Students are assigned into groups to jointly complete and submit research projects. For each project, students are required to answer research questions by processing and analyzing macroeconomic dataset downloaded from public website. To answer research questions in the report, provide all necessary explanations, graphs, calculations, and references attached including all the data, theories and models, formulas, Excel functions, etc.

The grade for each project depends on the effort, quality, and neatness of the work. I expect all research groups to follow requirements and instructions:  1) specify division of work for each member in the group; 2) a detailed explanation of applicable formula and calculation to each question; 3) a detailed explanation of the relevant spreadsheet functions and each argument you input; 4) print out all data and graphs for each question; 5) any useful findings and comments regarding the questions; 6) append any references, citations and information source at the end of your report. (Failing to meet these requirements will cost you and your team several points.)

When submitting your final project report, specify your group number and members on the front page. Please turn in the hardcopy in class and email me the final version of the digital copy in a single file (PDF version is preferred). The subject of the email must be ECON1101 Group Number. Once you email your report, for every revision or resubmission, I will penalize several points. Please double-check everything and send me the final version.
