We just spoke to the GLCA and they approved our having EconEdTech II in Columbus. They have agreed to generously reimburse meals, accommodation and transportation. EconEdTech II is funded by their "Expanding Collaborations" initiative. This second meeting will be more focussed on creating a working group that will actually create content. A core group of six faculty from Earlham, Wooster, Oberlin, Wabash and Kenyon have confirmed participation.
Why: Creating and deploying technology for liberal arts introductory class is time consuming.
What: We will convene a core group of GLCA faculty who have expressed deep interest in experimenting with technology. We will learn from each other, and collaborate to create digital content for introductory economics classes. We will do this keeping our liberal arts missions in mind.
When: 10 am on Thursday July 31 - Saturday at 4pm on August 2nd, 2014
Where: The Westin Columbus. A short walk from German Village, it is known as The Great Southern Hotel since its grand beginnings in 1897.
