Title: Using AI, ML, and Algorithmic Techniques to Aid Homeless Youth

Abstract: Homelessness has become an increasingly serious concern in our society. Millions of people living in places not fit for human habitation. This is particularly the case for homeless youth, where they account for nearly 2 million of the homeless population each year in the United States. The consequences of youth homelessness are many, including many preventable problems such as exposure to violence, trauma, substance use, and sexually transmitted disease (HIV). In the first part of this talk, I will discuss the application of ML and algorithmic techniques to better allocate housing resources to homeless youth. In the second part of this talk, I will discuss the application of AI and DM techniques to reduce HIV among homeless youth.
