ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE
TAE Technologies Inc.
Vacuum Specialist: Design and Testing of Ultra-High Vacuum Systems for large plasma fusion machine. Developed test method for Cryogenic Titanium Getter Pump with complex geometry using a monte carlo vacuum simulation software (MolFlow+) along with physical construction and experimentation of said test and pump. Developed experience with Ultra-High Vacuum techniques, titanium gettering, helium leak checking, residual gas analysis (RGA), Ion Gauge, liquid nitrogen and other cryogenics, clean room basics, vacuum baking, material outgassing, and contamination.
Sigma Technologies International (Oct 2013 - Present ): Research and Materials Processing Engineer: Front end High Voltage Polymer-Multi-Layer (PML) capacitor processing research and development. Experimental research on materials etching and dry etching (ashing) and arc spraying for terminations of PML capacitors ranging from 100V to 1.5KV. Designing LabVIEW programs to control systems of instruments and machines for automatic device characterization such as temperature characterization of PML capacitors by automatic temperature cycling and measurements of capacitance, ESR and dissipation factor. Running compliancy tests and reports as recommended by sponsors and grant issuers such as the Department of Energy.
Vacuum and Plasma Materials Processing: Vacuum chemical vapor deposition CVD, physical vapor deposition PVD, sputtering, electron beam deposition, and RF plasma dry etching (ashing).
A lot of hands on dirty work from hammering to wrenching, from grinding to cleaning diffusion pumps in 100 degree heat. Also learned how to speak Australian and properly use the word "chips" for french fries.
