About This Site

This website was created by Nate Childers. Nate has taught Science in Rochester Michigan since 1995. In 2010, he received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Education. Nate was also named the Michigan Middle School Science Teacher of the Year in 2008. Other honors include the Johanna Roskopp Award by the Clinton River Watershed Council. This award is given out annually for recent, outstanding contributions to protecting, improving, or celebrating the Clinton River, its watershed, and Lake St. Clair. As well as writing curriculum for his school local district, Nate was also a project writer for the Michigan High School Earth Science Clarification Document. Nate is driven to create a dynamic classroom environment that makes science come alive for students.
