Below are some "local" rules we are implementing whenever we play:
If there are no white or red stakes or boundary fences, consider it a lateral hazard or red stake. Drop a ball at point of entry with a one stroke penalty.
If a ball is out of bounds (OB) and there was no provisional ball, you can drop a ball on the middle of the fairway in line with the point of entry of original ball but with a 2 stroke penalty; for example, after hitting a ball from the tee that went OB, you can drop a ball on the fairway hitting your 4th shot. Of course, you always have the option of going back to the tee or original spot and hitting another ball.
On the green, a ball "within the leather" can be given by fellow players.
"Within the leather" is the opponent's REGULAR-size putter's exposed shaft length...from club head to bottom tip of grip.
Unless otherwise declared, we are always playing summer rules which means "play the ball as it lies".
You must always putt out with the same ball you started with from the tee. You can only change balls according to USGA rules.
