Hello and welcome to my personal research webpage! I am Dylan Dowling, a MASc student at the University of Waterloo in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. I am being co-supervised by Professor Sriram Narasimhan and Professor Scott Walbridge. I completed my Bachelor's of Applied Science at the University of Waterloo (2016) in Civil Engineering.

My research is focused on the use of digital cameras and image processing techniques such as digital image correlation to measure displacements for use with dynamic or modal analysis. My focus is on creating an open source, easy to use, 3D-DIC system and to provide recommended best practices for use with both it and modern DIC frameworks.

In my spare time, I enjoy long distance running, photography, videography, web design and development, and volunteering with various student groups.
