Electronic Birthday Blowout Candles (ATmega8)
Dhananjay Gadre
Instead of using polluting conventional wax candles, use these reusable electronic ones for child's birthday.
Faraday For Fun: An Electronic Batteryless Dice (ATtiny13V)
Dhananjay Gadre
Shake a tube, generate power, play game.
Shakemote (ATtiny13)
Dhananjay Gadre & Ranjit Puri
The power-efficient shakemote is a muscle-powered remote control that doesn’t require batteries. The ATtiny13 responds to six keys and can output codes for commonly used functions like Volume, Channel, Mute, and Standby.
Shaft Encoder (ATtiny13)
Dhananjay Gadre, Arjun Sarwal, & Anish Mangal
Perfect for portable applications, the low-power Shaft Encoder is built around an ATtiny13 and a small stepper motor. The spindle that needs to be rotated can be mounted on the shaft of the miniature stepper motor. A serial output interface indicates the direction and magnitude of the rotations.
Voting Pads over RS485 (ATmega88)
Dhananjay Gadre, Sneha Lele, Anurag Chugh, & Parag Shah
This integrated voting system includes several touch pads that feature an ATmega88, a MAX485, a few LEDs, and push buttons. The keypads communicate over the RS-485 bus. A Java application runs on a PC that generates a bar graph similar to one seen on TV game shows.
Talk Zombie (ATmega169)
Dhananjay Gadre, Vasudeo Lal, & Sulochana Dhar
The ATmega169-based Talk Zombie is a multilingual talking device. The well-designed system can render the ambient temperature and current time in the form of speech. The system features a joystick-driven menu that enables a user to say the temperature or time, set the time, toggle the temperature between Celsius and Fahrenheit, and choose a language (English, Dutch, or French).
MaJaTron: A 3-Dimensional Color Graphics Display System (ATmega32)
Dhananjay Gadre, Rishabh Maheshwari, & Deepansh Agrawal
The MaJaTron is a well-designed, portable, 3-D color graphics display system. The ATmega32-based system includes 125 LEDs. Users can create graphics and animations with the software package on a PC and then download them to the system.

Lifetime Counter (AT90S1200 or ATtiny26)
Dhananjay Gadre and Aarul Jain
This useful system maintains the counts of external events represented by pulses for the lifetime of an instrument. The counter was designed to use the AT90S1200 or ATtiny26 microcontrollers.
Microstepper Motor Controller (AT90S8515)
Dhananjay Gadre and Rajaram Kharoshe
The AT90S8515 microcontroller-based Microstepper Motor Controller can handle four-wire bipolar stepper motors with up to 1-A phase currents and 30-V power supplies. This project achieves 256 microsteps per step, which is approximately 50,000 steps per revolution.
