We are always looking for talented students and postdocs who are interested in the interface of analysis, applied probability, numerical analysis, as well as in evolutionary game theory. There are many ways you can join us, either for doing a research summer project, as a MSc/MSci student, a PhD or a postdoc.
Possible funding for prospective PhD students:
Mathematics PhD opportunities at Birmingham: the School of Mathematics at the University of Birmingham often offers a few PhD scholarships each year. Candidates are strongly encouraged to apply before 31 January for the consideration for the school's scholarship.
China Scholarship Council (CSC) PhD Scholarships Programme at the University of Birmingham: the University of Birmingham has several joint collaborations to provide scholarships for international students, for instance for Chinese students through the CSC.
Possible options for postdocs:
We ocassionally have funds for postdoctoral researchers from specific project grants. These will be advertised in our website when available.
We are keen to support excellent candidates who wish to apply for external fellowships, including EPSRC Fellowships, Newton International Fellowships, Marie Curie, as well as the Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851, etc. If you are interested in joining us through these schemes, please get in touch with us well in advance to discuss a prospective application.
MSci/MSc students: We also offer MSc/MSci projects, often on topics in partial differential equations, applied probability and evolutionary game theory.
