About DLA: Mission/Bylaws

The Duck Lake Association (DLA) was formed in 2005 when it was believed that curly leaf pondweed was present in the lake. Fortunately, that turned out to be untrue, but it was the catalyst for starting the association. Water monitoring has been done by Duck Lake volunteers since 1996 as part of the Citizen Lake Monitoring Program (CLMP).

From the DLA Bylaws:

  • Our mission is to promote and maintain the environmental, economic and recreational protection of the Duck Lake Area.

The DLA purposes are as follows:

  • The Association shall work in conjunction with federal, state, and local agencies, whether public or private, to protect and maintain the Duck Lake Area.

  • The Association shall work toward maintaining water quality and aquatic fish habitat, promoting limited harvest, catch and release fishing, and improving water quality.

  • The Association shall provide educational resources for protecting the quality of Duck Lake and its wildlife.

  • The Association shall inform the general membership of the civil concerns that relate to the purpose of the Association.

  • The Association shall be a non-profit, non-stock organization.
