Current Research Areas

• Wireless Communications 

- Design of grant-free and random access schemes utilizing multi-user detection methods, compressed sensing, and spatial graph coupling theory. 

• Modulation and Error Correction Coding for Optical Communications  

- Design of error-correction coding and signal modulation techniques for transmission over fiber-optical communication links, with special attention to low complexity and latency of the decoding and demodulation as well as the channel non-linearity.

• Spatial Graph Coupling for Wireless Communications  

- Design of transmission and reception techniques for multiple antenna wireless communications, based on spatial graph coupling principle, and, in particular, on coupling information transmission method. 

• Algorithms for Underwater Acoustic Communications

- Techniques for estimation and tracking of underwater communication channels, equalization, data transmission and reception, graphical models, and iterative processing.
