INTRODUCTION: The String Thing is an experiment that allows an audience to view the string theory in action by using a string, we'll show how it's affected by gravity.
String Theory is a unified example of regular waves, standing waves, and vibrations. Regular waves are waves that have a single direction, period, and height. A standing wave is a wave that is oscillates in place but still vibrates.
PROCEDURES:
1.) First you push the switch all the way up to turn on the machine. Once you do that the string will start moving.
2.) To make the string move vertically, pull the knob towards you.
3.) To make the string move horizontally, Turn the knob away from you.
ACTION SHOT
SCIENTIFIC PRINCIPAL: The more angle added on to projectile, the less range it has.
INVESTIGATION QUESTIONS:
1.) How does the project demonstrate "The String Theory"?
2.) What would happen if the knob was turned all the way forward as far as it will go?
3.) Can you show the same demonstration using different objects and materials?
4.) Why does the angle in which the string is launched affect the strings range?
ANSWER:
1.) This project demonstrates " The String Theory" by using a string and how it's affected by gravity.
2.) The string would proceed moving horizontally.
3.) Yes, you can use a long rope in place of a the string, and you can have a person moving the rope vertically and horizontally in place of the machine.
4.) Because the more vertically the string is launched, the shorter the range will be, and the more horizontally the string is launched, the farther the range will be.
