INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP:

Leading Schools to developing processes and systems for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and to improve instructional practices with classrooms:

• Implemented Marzano's High Reliability Framework. One pager is HERE and a complete overview of the program is HERE
• District Academic Calendar - create and design the district academic school calendar each year involving community stakeholders.
• Sample PLC Process - developed for first year staff with no knowledge or understanding of conducting PLCS.
• Structured Data Conversation with PLC (Norms) - developed norms and structured questions to utilize student data to conduct PLCS.
• PLC Expectations - what was expected from campus administration regarding the identification and leading PLC in Standard-Based Instruction.
• PLC Protocol - after PLC process was fine tuned, leadership team created the PLC Protocol to ensure quality focus on Standard Based Instruction.
• Testing Evaluation - after each district assessments, PLC teams had structured method of analyzing the data.
• Structure data meetings - as a building principal, I met frequently after each assessment and had teachers answer data directed questions.
• Designed Walk Through Templates - to maintain the focus of instructional 'look fors' within each area, I created walk-through templates for instructional walks.
• Designed Learning Walk Protocols for Assistant Principals - used this form as a sample of learning walks completed on different high school campuses based on campus focus.
• Created and developed a Lesson Plan Template. This template was used by all staff when designing engaging lessons.
• Developed a Literacy Program to increase writing scores. Increased as much as 21% in economic disadvantage subgroups.
• Summative and formative assessment training. Trained teachers on "Assessment For Learning vs Assessment of Learning". Also provided articles and research on methods and ideas for daily formative assessments. Example located here.
• Led district content areas through re-writing curriculum. Taught curriculum writers to write the following sample documents:
