My research investigates the processes behind network structure and dynamics that play out in countless settings. I like to believe that there is a network angle to any research question. As such, my work reaches into many domains. This is evident in the co-authorship network shown: everyone in this network had co-authored a paper with me as of 2017 (node size is proportional to number of papers) and any two people are connected if they were on the same paper. The largest nodes are my longtime collaborators Sandi Simpkins and Olga Kornienko (former student). The different clusters roughly correspond to the research areas listed below.
