Abstract of Paper:-
This paper describes use of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) for design of hydraulic product -centrifugal
pump. Few years ago way available to evaluate performance of centrifugal pump was to conduct experiments.
Experimental work has limitation as it takes more time and money and there is less scope for trying many
alternatives. CFD reduces time needed to develop new product by simulating pump/pump component in
computer before manufacturing. This paper critically reviews capability of CFD for predicting performance of
centrifugal pump. It also describes what way CFD can be used for calculating different parameters for useful for
pump design. It is first paper to describe details about CFD for pump.
