Peri A. da Silva Jr.

I earned a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2005. I also earned an M.S. degree in Economics from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation in Rio de Janeiro and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. I am currently a Professor and the Head of the Economics Department at Kansas State University, where I have been part of the faculty since the Fall of 2011. Previously I was an assistant and associate Professor of Economics at the University of North Dakota. I am an international trade economist with research interests in the political economy of trade and in trade agreements. I have served as a consultant for the UNCTAD and the World Bank group and am a fellow at the GEP centre at Nottingham and the Ld'A in Milan.
