Welcome to my Academic Digital Portfolio (ADP)! I'm delighted to have you here. My name is Dilan Majid Rostam Bajalan (Roshani), but you can call me Roshani. As a PhD holder from the prestigious University of Nottingham and a tenure-track Associate Professor in Architecture/Civil Engineering, I am excited to showcase my academic journey and accomplishments.

Currently, I am honoured to serve as a senior lecturer at the College of Engineering at the University of Duhok in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) since September 2022. Before joining UOD, I was a teaching member at the Department of Architecture Engineering (DARE) in Koya University from February 2012 to October 2019. During my time there, I also had the privilege of serving as the Vice President for Scientific and Postgraduate Affairs (VPS) from February 2012 to February 2016. Additionally, I held leadership positions as the VPS of Bayan University from November 2018 to July 2019 and the President of Knowledge University from October 2019 to September 2020.

Throughout my academic career, I have been deeply passionate about research and education. My primary research interests lie in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and AEC e-collaboration, Digital Transformation in Engineering and Education, as well as progressive Higher Education leadership. By exploring these areas, I aim to contribute to the advancement of the field and foster innovation.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I am known for being active, open-minded, resourceful, and positive. I possess excellent communication skills, allowing me to effectively engage with individuals of all ages. This proficiency stems from my experience of living independently since the age of sixteen, which has instilled in me a sense of organization and conscientiousness.

I am proud to hold a Ph.D. in e-Collaboration in AEC, and my expertise extends to various domains such as Civil Engineering, structural design, Digital Transformation strategies, IT-based Collaboration, and Knowledge Transferring Strategies. I possess the ability to critically analyse complex challenges and employ my creative imagination to provide strategic solutions.

Furthermore, my professional journey has been enriched by long industrial experiences in Sweden, Norway, and the United Kingdom. These experiences have allowed me to focus on applied IT in working processes and collaboration concepts, ultimately enabling me to deliver life-changing, quality education to my students. In my role as a university leader, I have consistently pursued academic excellence and believe that quality education is the key to shaping a shared global future.
