The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat commenced a week-long training session on the DST-FIST-supported “Advances in Characterization of Materials” on its campus today. About 34 faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, and doctoral students from around the country participated in this training workshop, which will run until September 18.
The event is funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), under STUTI (Synergistic Training Program Utilizing the Scientific and Technological Infrastructure) program, in which IIT Gandhinagar is identified as a Project Management Unit (PMU).
Apart from the theoretical knowledge, the workshop aims to provide practical hands-on experience to the participants through a laboratory session where the characterization of samples and operation of instruments will be demonstrated to create awareness among the participants.
