About Dr. Carlo Magno
Dr. Carlo Magno took his undergraduate in De La Salle University, Manila with the degree Bachelor of Arts major in Psychology. He took his Masters degree in Education major in Basic Education Teaching at the Ateneo de Manila University. He received his PhD in Educational Psychology major in Measurement and Evaluation at De La Salle University, Manila with high distinction. He was trained in Structural Equations Modeling at Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany. He was previously a faculty of the College of Education at De La Salle University, Manila where he taught courses on measurement, assessment, evaluation, educational research, psychometric theory, scaling theory, and statistics. He has been the Vice President for Research and Testing at the Asian Psychological Services and Assessment. He was a visiting faculty at Ateneo de Davao University and Philippine Normal University. In 2005 he was awarded as the Most Outstanding Junior Faculty in Psychology by the Samahan ng Mag-aaral sa Sikolohiya and in 2007 he was the Best Teacher Students’ Choice Award by the College of Education in DLSU, Manila, The Lasallian Excellence Award, Students Search for Most Outstanding Teacher in 2012. In 2008, he was awarded by the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) as the Most Outstanding Published Scientific Paper in the Social Science. In 2009, he was awarded as an Honorary Regional Adviser of the Asian EFL Journal by Time Taylor International. In 2010 he was a recipient of the Natividad Fajardo Distinguished Chair in Research Methods. The DOST-National Academy of Science and Technology declared Dr. Carlo Magno as the 2011 Outstanding Young Scientist (OYS) in the Philippines. In 2012 he is the 2nd Filipino recipient of the Global Young Scientist Award by the Global Young Academy awarded in South Africa. He published over 100 researches in refereed and abstracted scientific journals. His work uses quantitative techniques in the field of educational psychology in line with teacher performance, learner-centeredness, measurement and evaluation, self-regulation, metacognition, parenting, and language learning that were published and presented in local and international conferences. He is presently the president of the Philippine Educational Measurement and Evaluation Association (PEMEA). A research fellow of the SEAMEO INNOTECH and The Center for International Cooperation in Education Development (CICED). He is the managing editor of five international, refereed, and abstracted journals. Dr. Carlo Magno wrote and presented the recommendation policy for the K to 12 basic education in the Philippines. He worked with the Ministry of Education in the Republic of Samoa for the Year 8 National Exam. He also worked with the literacy and numeracy national assessment in the North Pacific. He is listed in the Who's who academics and who's who international. Dr. Carlo Magno is a consultant to various institutions in the Philippines and conducts teacher training seminars and workshops.
