Field to Market (6/2024 – 3/2025)
Staff scientist – Environmental modeler (Remote)
· Supported the integration of SWAT+ in the Fieldprint Platform as the model of choice for quantifying soil organic carbon. Worked with the development teams (Dr. Jeff Arnold, Dr. Natalja Čerkasova, Taci Ugraskan), Colorado State University (Dr. Olaf David, Frank Geter, Jack Carlson) to improve SWAT+ carbon code adopted from SWAT-C, test a wide range of datasets and calibrate SWAT+, test the services, and result in the documentation for public comments on the proposing revisions to the energy use, GHG emissions and soil carbon metrics for the Fieldprint Platform, Version 5.0.
· Studied materials from the models validated for the Soil Enrichment Protocol (SEP) project under the Climate Action Reserve website and developed a validation report for the Fieldprint Platform.
· Supported the science team and grant team when needed, checking IPCC protocol for land use change, calculating GHG emissions based on the latest guidelines, studying MMRV as per USDA guidance, and checking USDA workbooks.
