I have been associated with Institute of Space Technology (IST), Pakistan since its inception in 2002. Currently I am heading the Electrical Engineering department that offers degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. After completing my PhD from Paris Descartes University France in 2009, I have been involved in various research ventures in the field of Image Processing, Machine Learning and Computer Vision. I am the founder and director of the Artificial Intelligence & Computer Vision (iVision) research lab at IST. I am also one of the founding members of Pakistan Pattern Recognition Society (PPRS) which is an official chapter of IAPR in Pakistan. In addition, I am also the Co-PI of the Satellite Research & Technology Lab under the National Center of GIS & Space Applications. Apart from that, I am associate editor of Journal of Space Technology which is an HEC recognized annual peer-reviewed journal. I am also contributing as reviewer and committee member for various top ranked international journals and conferences. I was given the award of 'Best University Teacher' in Pakistan in January 2016 by the Higher Education Commission.
