2019 - Present: Professor / Dean, Faculty of Information Technology at Salim Habib University (formerly  Barrett Hodgson University), Pakistan. Following are the key leadership, mentorship, and academic contributions, reflecting my commitment to excellence in education:

• • • Initiated Department with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) NOC: Successfully established a new department, obtaining the Higher Education Commission’s No Objection Certificate (NOC).

    • Accreditation: Under my leadership, the BS Computer Science program achieved accreditation from the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC).

    • Team Building: Assembled a high-quality team despite constraints, ensuring the department’s strong foundation.

    • Student Enrollment: Achieved maximum student enrollment as set by the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC) during my tenure as Dean of Faculty.

    • Faculty Development in Research: Being head of “visual analytics research group” mentored faculty members in research, leading to their first journal publications.

    • Recognition: Received the Best University Teacher Award in 2023, honoring my dedication to teaching. Courses taught:

June 2016: Visiting researcher at Norwegian Colour and Visual Computing Laboratory, Faculty  of  Computer Science and Media Technology, NTNU - Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Gjøvik, Norway.

• • • Project: IQ-MED: Image Quality enhancement in MEDical diagnosis, monitoring and treatment, the core concept of the project is anomaly detection in medical images, leading to improvement in wireless capsule endoscopy system.

• Feb 2015 - April 2016: Postdoctoral research fellow @ LIRIS, Universite de Lyon, France.

  • • Project:  The goal of the project is to create an immersive gaming environment for Tablet PCs specifically for children.

• Dec 2013 - Dec 2014: Postdoctoral research fellow @ Laboratory LabexIMU Lyon, France.

  • • Project: The targeted application concerns the automated analysis of first person-view image sequences acquired using a mobile camera (glasses) endowed with an eye-tracking system. The general goal being full scene labeling / parsing while specific goal is detection and recognition of various focused scene elements.
