Among the many theories of psychoanalysis, Bion’s theories of the mind and psychoanalytic practice impress me the most. Klein’s object-relations theories and Freud’s groundbreaking writings are all inspiring.
In addition to clinical training, my personal background of multicultural exposures and different language capabilities, Mandarin Chinese and some Korean in addition to English, enables me to work with diverse groups of the population.
A psychoanalytic session is conducted in the privacy of my offices, aimed at providing a safe and comfortable environment for a person to explore one’s emotions. The task of the session is then for the analyst and the patient to work together to find the meaning of the troubling yet elusive experiences. By communicating with a respectful, mature, and disciplined professional, a person gets help becoming more aware of oneself, and eventually of others as well.
As circumstances demand, I also provide Telehealth.
