Objective:
Write a 3-paragraph letter from the point of view of the protagonist of your independent reading novel. She or he might write this letter to someone who is a character in the book, or your protagonist might write this letter to an anonymous person. Remember to add in a salutation (“Dear Emily”) and a closing (“Sincerely yours,”) that your protagonist would use.
Goal:
In the letter, your protagonist looks back at his/ her journey in the book. She or he describes good and bad decisions made along the novel.
Point of view:
Use first person narrator, (I, me, us, we, etc.) He or she should talk directly to the reader and discuss her or his decisions honestly and openly.
Content:
Use specific examples from the final 50-100% part of the book. Ground your letter persuasively and reflectively with short phrases of direct excerpts that you mold into your own sentences.
