CHARCOAL ON WHITE DRAWINGS

Grab a picture of an animal from the internet and print it in black and white.

You will learn:

Large sheet of black paper (or dark colored paper) — preferably a heavier sheet of paper
An X-acto knife — The X2000 series is ideal ($8.60). (A scissors will also do, but do not expect the same results. It will be a lot more imprecise and less detailed.)
Pencil and eraser
Glue stick
A cutting mat — A self-healing mat, like the X-Acto Mat, is ideal or the Blick Self-Healing Mat
You will learn:
Positive and negative space
Working with an art blade safely. SAFETY IS KEY FOR THIS LESSON.
Denim Painting
SUPPLIES:
Jeans or Denim Jacket
Paint brushes — assorted sizes and shapes
Acrylic Paints — Preferably a set of 6 to 12 colors, including white
Paper plates (use as a palette for the paint)
Plastic soda cups from fast food restaurants (for water and cleaning brushes)
