ALL IN-PERSON SESSIONS ARE HELD AT THE NORTH PAVILION AT THE OZAUKEE COUNTY FAIR GROUNDS.
SESSIONS ARE LIMITED TO 20 PARTICIPANTS.
Create a whimsy scene using colored pencils and your imagination. I will provide suggestions for scenes if students cannot come up with one themselves.
Includes the following supplies you will use to create your masterpiece:
1 9x9" Shadowbox with a white or black frame (to be determined)
Thick paper
Scissors to cut out designs, or exacto knives and cutting boards when the designs are intricate
8 plastic stand ups to hold designs in place
Double-sided tape
Colored Pencils
Thin-tipped Sharpie
Cost for this class is $15 per student
(The majority of this fee will be used to cover the costs of the shadowboxes)
Learn to use a grid to truly see and then replicate an image. You'll also learn how to use prismacolor pencils, an artists version of colored pencils, to produce vibrant and blended colors.
Includes the following supplies:
Use of shared class prismacolor pencils, pencils and erasers
If you have your own prismacolor pencils, feel free to bring them.
*NO Crayola colored pencils please.* These will not produce the desired results.
Artist quality drawing paper
Please bring a box from your favorite candy or treat. I will have samples for those who do not bring a package to draw, but I cannot promise it will be your favorite.
Cost for this class is $5 per student
Play with different drawing mediums while creating a life-long memento of your favorite plush friend. Through this session, you'll explore drawing with graphite pencil, prismacolor pencils, watercolor pencils, oil pastels, chalk pastels, and pen and ink.
Includes the following supplies:
Use of shared class pencils, pens, pastels and erasers
If you have your own drawing supplies pencils, feel free to bring them.
*NO Crayola colored pencils please.* These will not produce the desired results.
Artist quality drawing paper
Rulers and thin tipped sharpies for drawing separating lines
Please bring your favorite plush. I will some of my plush friends just in case you don't bring yours, but I guarantee you'll want to bring your own.
Cost for this class is $6 per student
It's basically two paintings in one! In the first session, you'll create a black and white painting of a single piece of fruit or vegetable. Then, during the second session, you'll tape off a section of your painting and paint the same food item in color.
Includes the following supplies:
8x8" canvas
Shared supply of brushes, water cups, paper towels, paper plates for mixing colors, and acrylic paint.
Painters tape
Please bring a single piece of fruit or vegetable. Avoid multi-piece fruits or vegetables such as grapes or corn. I will have extras to work from for students who do not bring one, but you will have to share.
BE SURE TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THE FRUIT OR VEGGIE BEFORE LEAVING THE FIRST CLASS.
Cost for this class is $10 per student
Create prints of your own artistic designs. In this class, you'll learn how to create a reverse image of your drawings and cut away the "non-image stuff" using special student-grade chisels. We will then ink our blocks and create prints of your designs.
Includes the following supplies:
A 4x6" tile of pink, student-grade linoleum (Any additional tiles are $4 each)
Index cards and graphite pencils for creating designs
Printing ink/paint
Brayers
Printing press
Cutting tools
Printing paper
Students should bring ideas of simple images they may like to create prints of.
