Biomolecular NMR and Drug Design Laboratory

The major scientific interest of the group lies in the applications of the principles of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) in probing the physical interactions of biomolecules at atomic resolution. Recent research advances in our laboratory have been involving novel experimental approaches, expanded beyond the conventional structural studies opening up new dimensions in drug designing. The precise knowledge of the three-dimensional structure of biomolecules is crucial for their structure-function correlations. Determination of molecular structure and dynamics of biomembranes and the associated functional peptides and proteins is, in fact, one of the most significant challenges in contemporary science. Thus, the structure and dynamics associated with biomolecular interactions at the functional interface of biomembranes are the main focus of most of our studies.
