Currently I hold a research position at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence R&D of Serbia, since October 2021. Prior to this I was an Associate Professor at Alfa University in Belgrade.
Until 2019, I was based in Doha, where I worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) from June 2016 to March 2019. During this time, I was involved in the Meta-Clf2 project, which focused on (the problem of) automated reasoning about concurrent, distributed, and parallel systems. My research particularly centered on applications in finance, specifically the formalization of cornerstone financial systems, with a focus on order-matching engine as a computational core of exchange.
Prior to that I was an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science, Belgrade (2014-16), and an Assistant and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Management, Novi Sad (2008-10, 11-14). I have been teaching subject such as Mathematics of Finance, Probability, Statistics, etc., at an undergraduate level.
I spent 2010-11 as a postdoctoral research fellow at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, EPFL, Switzerland, after obtaining Swiss Government Scholarship.
I received a PhD degree from Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon, ENS Lyon, France (in December 2007), for which I was awarded an international scholarship for doctoral studies Marie Curie EU FP6 (2004-08), through the project Mathlogaps - Mathematical Logic and Applications.
Also I participate in theoretical and applied computer science research through projects with the Faculty of Technical Sciences, Center for Mathematics and Statistics CMS, University of Novi Sad, and coordinated by the Mathematical Institute of Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, MI SANU.
I spent some time doing research in digital image/shape analysis, namely designing some of the fundamental shape descriptors.
At some point I have been studying quantitative finance at MSc level (IMQF), at the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade.
I attended elementary school Miloš Crnjanski (at the time called Stevan Divnin Baba) in Žabalj, whereas my high school was Gymnasium Jovan Jovanović Zmaj in Novi Sad. I graduated from the Faculty of Science, University of Novi Sad, Serbia.
