Michael Dotten serves as an arbitrator and mediator of commercial, environmental and energy disputes. He has been involved in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) for over three decades. Michael handles domestic and international disputes. He has 40-years experience as litigator and administrative law attorney handling complex administrative proceedings, trials and appeals before state and federal courts and agencies. He retired from the private practice of law in 2017 and now serves exclusively as a neutral. Mike has spoken and published extensively on energy issues, including before the Russian government.
Michael founded and managed the Portland, Oregon offices for Heller, Ehrman LLP and Marten Law, PLLC. Formerly a 24-year shareholder at Heller Ehrman LLP, an assistant state attorney general and a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney. Dual citizenship: Canada/United States. Widely travelled in Europe, the Middle East and South America.
