Michael Dotten retired as Of counsel to Marten Law in 2017 and now exclusively serves as a neutral arbitrator and mediator.
Formerly a shareholder at Heller Ehrman LLP for nearly 25 years, Dotten serves as an arbitrator and mediator of commercial disputes, particularly complex utility and energy matters.

Practiced for 40 years representing utilities, large energy consumers, conventional and renewable power project developers, oil and gas pipelines and water and wastewater utilities negotiating contracts, obtaining governmental approvals, in contested administrative proceedings and in trial and appellate courts, including the United States Supreme Court. Served as an Assistant State Attorney General, a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney and as General Counsel of an interstate natural gas pipeline. Served on his firms' Risk Management Committee for more than 25 years and served as Conflicts Counselor, Freedom of Information Act Counselor and Privacy Act Counselor at a federal agency.
