I am a Professor of Energy and Environmental Economics. My research examines household energy consumption, energy efficiency, and the evaluation of public policies designed to reduce emissions and improve living conditions. Over the past fifteen years, I have studied the determinants of energy-saving investments, the drivers of energy demand, and the multiple dimensions of energy poverty in both high-income and developing country contexts.
My work has shown how socio-economic characteristics, behavioural preferences, norms and contextual constraints shape energy use, efficiency outcomes and policy effectiveness. More recently, I have extended this research to climate adaptation, focusing on how individuals respond to extreme heat and environmental risks, including the role of cognition, beliefs and psychological vulnerabilities in shaping adaptation behaviours.
Methodologically, my work combines econometrics, panel data approaches, latent class and multidimensional analysis, behavioural insights, and survey-based evidence. I use quantitative causal inference and mixed empirical strategies to identify mechanisms, heterogeneity and socially meaningful policy levers.
Across all these topics, my objective remains the same: to produce research that generates rigorous empirical evidence and supports the design of public policies that are effective, socially fair, and better adapted to diverse populations and territories.
