Oatmeal Bread

INGREDIENTS

1½ cups boiling water

1 cup oats

¾ cup molasses

3 tablespoons soft butter

2 teaspoons salt

1 tablespoon active dry yeast

2 cups luke warm water

8 cups unbleached bread flour

DIRECTIONS

1. Boiling water on oats for 30 minutes.

2. Add moasses, soft butter, salt.

Disolve yeast in water and add to oats.

3. Beat and knead.

4. Place in buttered bowl, turn to butter top.

Rise until double bulk, about one hour.

5. Punch down and knead again.

6. Divide and put into three well oiled 9 x 5 x 3 pans.

Cover and rise until double bulk, about 45 minutes.

7. Preheat 400° F.

8. Bake 5 min, lower to 350° F and bake 40 minutes.Tip: How to add a new recipe page to this list.
