Chromoceratops meiosus

Chromoceratops meiosus is an imaginary reptilobird species. It represent the link between dinosaurs and birds, and combines characteristics of both. I use it to let students examine the connection between meiosis (gamete formation) and genetic variation within a population. The full article describing the activity is published in the journal American Biology Teacher. Below you will find files you can download and use as they are (you may choose the PDF files for that) or edit and modify (use the Word and PowerPoint versions in this case).

**Update: Mariëlle H. Hoefnagels, an associate professor at the University of Oklahoma, tried this exercise and reports her experience with it, and some modification she's made here. Thanks, Mariëlle, for sharing!
