Hello and welcome to our website Dorcas Designs.  My name is Veronica Baxter I am a seamstress and dressmaker, the founder of Dorcas Designs.  I have a passion for sewing; I began many years ago with making dresses, cushion covers, bible bags and curtains.   I also love to sew and machine embroider various articles, some of which have been sold to the Christian bookshop.    I am also  happy to take on small everyday dressmaking projects. I work from my home in Birmingham 

Clothing alterations is another popular service I offer doing clothing alterations to every day clothing.   I specialise in altering men's as well as ladies clothing.  From shortening trousers, altering skirts, dresses or simply replacing a zip.   To keep my prices down I work from home in Birmingham.

The costs will depend on the design and the fabrics required.  A deposit is required this is fifty per cent of the total cost of the garment, this covers the fabrics required for your garment, the pattern and construction.
