My group primarily studies tropical cyclone (TC), a representative extreme weather phenomenon that causes enormous damage accompanied by wind gusts and torrential rainfall. Our focus on TC stems from three distinct yet interconnected areas of study: dynamics, climatology, and economic risk.
The following are our research keywords:
heavy rainfall, wind gusts, and translational speed
parametric model
boundary layer
short-term forecast
long-term variability and change in the past
long-term (seasonal-to-decadal) forecasts
future projections
climate intervention technology (carbon dioxide removal and solar radiation modification)
damage function
catastrophe model
