Pre-Algebra 1

Goals:

1. Students will be able to perform the basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with whole numbers (up to three digits), fractions, mixed numbers, decimals, and rational numbers, including in the contexts of ratios and rate.

2. Students will be able to find basic geometric measurements, areas, perimeters, etc. of various regular and irregular shapes.

3. Students will be able to properly use mathematical notation and language to describe the solving of computational and situational problems, especially expressions and equations.

4. Students will be able to develop an understanding of statistical thinking, its visual representations, and uses.
