About Me

Welcome to a new school year! I am privileged to be one of the teachers who opened up this campus back in 1991, helping to build the community we have today at Buchanan High School. Currently I teach seniors in ERWC/English 1A and Advanced Placement Literature, although I have taught nearly all of the classes we offer in the English Department here at BHS over the years.

Fun facts about me: I am a huge pop-culture fan, and I spend way too much time watching T.V. and movies. I'm a photographer in my spare time, and I love to travel to hone those photography skills. I have had the privilege of traveling to China, Costa Rica, and Iceland, among other places, and I really enjoyed seeing and photographing those places. I have many, many more places on my to-go-to wish list! I also enjoy cooking and trying out all kinds of foods. Of course, I'm an avid reader as well, write fairly regularly in a blog, and love all kinds of music.

My three children have all come up through the Buchanan Educational Complex, first at Garfield, then Alta Sierra, and finally, Buchanan. My oldest daughter graduated from San Diego State, as a Public Relations/Communications with a minor in International Economics. She's currently a Communications specialist at a law firm in San Diego. My son is currently working a full-time job at a lodge near Yosemite, and wants to attend Clovis Community College to major in Engineering. My youngest just started her final year at Cal Baptist University in Riverside. She is a Liberal Studies major with an emphasis in art education, and wants to become an elementary teacher when she graduates. I am incredibly proud of all of them.
