BIO

Her first published piece was a short story called "Mom" in The Sitting Bull, the newspaper

for her junior-senior high school.

Primarily an essayist, Girouard's work has been published in literary magazines

such as BorderCrossing, Embodied Effigies, and The Oklahoma Review. Her first

book-length work, The Other Side: Closing the Door, was published in 2015.

More recently, Girouard has combined her writing interests with her long-time

dedication toward helping with animal rescue by working on a children's series:

The Adventures of Felix and His Furry Friends, books to educate children about

cat and dog rescue, adoption and care. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds

from each book in the series is donated to specific animal rescue

organizations.
