Welcome,

I am a Research Fellow and former Interim Professor of Development Economics at the University of Göttingen

My research combines microeconomic modeling with empirical methods to study questions in development economics, information economics, and sustainability and environmental economics. I am interested in the determinants of technology adoption, particularly the role of information frictions in shaping adoption decisions and economic outcomes, and how technologies that mitigate these frictions transform individual behavior, markets, and public policy.  My recent work encompasses applications to climate adaptation, digital transformation, information regulation,  agricultural productivity, regional integration, and policy evaluation.

Before joining University of Göttingen, I was Assistant Professor of Economics at University College Dublin. I obtained my PhD in 2018 from the Graduate School of Economics, Finance, and Management (GSEFM) at Goethe University Frankfurt, after studying mathematics and economics at TU Dortmund University, Complutense University of Madrid, and University of Iowa. I also hold a graduate diploma in international relations from the University of London (LSE)

I have taught at universities in Germany, France, Ireland, China, Korea, and South Africa. I also regularly provide policy advice to international organizations and NGOs, including the World Bank, EBRD, Asian Development Bank, United Nations agencies, and African Center for Economic Transformation.

Here you can find my CV and details on my research, teaching, and policy work.
