I have received funding from the OeNB’s Anniversary Fund for my project "Design of Dynamic Competitions" (2025-2028). This project aims to deepen our understanding of dynamic competitions through the construction of novel theoretical economic models and the exploration of various design issues within these competitions.

We introduce the concept of a flexible reserve price, where the value of the reserve price that the winner must pay may depend on the losing bids, and show that the second-price auction with the optimally chosen flexible reserve price is the optimal mechanism among all non-discriminatory mechanisms.
