I am Professor of Finance at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow (UK). Before joining Glasgow, I was at the Essex Business School, University of Essex (UK), the University of Heidelberg (Germany) and the Higher School of Economics, Moscow (Russia).
From 2018 to 2022 I was also Professor in Economics (part time) at the National Research University - Higher School of Economics (Perm, Russia). From 2013 to 2022 I was one of the organisers and a Chair of the Programme Committee of iCare - International conference on applied research in economics and finance.
My current projects include work on Central Bank announcements for general public (funded by the British Academy / Leverhulme Trust and the Bank of England), on incentives for sustainable behaviour (funded by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research), and on gender in finance. Some recent projects I have been involved in include Benchmarking Public Private Partnerships in Russia and Initiative on the Enhancement of Public Procurement in the CIS. In 2021-22 I was a Leverhulme Research Fellow.
My paper on public-private partnerships has had an impact on parliamentary debates in Trinidad and Tobago on the adoption of the PPP Law; the model of PPP from that paper has been included in a textbook on service purchasing.
