Uniforms

Uniforms are an essential element to maintaining a professional organization. Standards, policies, and member's pride in the organization, help keep uniforms, uniform. Daisy Mountain Fire Department Citizen Corps (DMFDCC) sponsors two partner programs, CERT and Fire Corps, and each has it's own uniform. Uniforms are often viewed by the public as a form of identification. Therefore, volunteers are authorized to wear a uniform only while on-duty or acting in an official capacity for the Department. This includes travel to and from those activities. On the other hand, hats and Citizen Corps apparel are considered everyday wear and can be worn anytime.

All uniforms, hats, and everyday apparel shall be maintained in presentable condition. Faded, worn or damaged items are not acceptable; this includes faded lettering or markings on each item. When retiring uniforms, destroy them by cutting (or other means), before discarding.

Volunteers are allowed to purchase and wear uniforms, hats, and everyday wear only after they have been issued a Department ID. When you’re ready to purchase shirts and hats, contact our exclusive vendor directly. All other items may be purchased from a vendor of your choice. The cost of the uniforms is at your own expense.

All DMFD policy prevails and is subject to change.

Refer to DMFD Volume I for current Uniform Policy.

Discipline up to and including dismissal from the Department may be implemented for any violations of this policy. Altering any equipment, uniform, or ID card issued to you will result in discipline up to and including dismissal.

Citizen Corps Apparel

Our members are excited to be part of DMFDCC, and frequently want to display something that demonstrates that affiliation. DMFDCC apparel is considered everyday wear and not a uniform. For this reason, members can wear apparel displaying the DMFDCC logo at anytime. CLICK to see the acceptable DMFDCC logo configurations, and to order from our exclusive vendor. DMFDCC imprinted or embroidered items may also display your name, such as on a shirt, jacket or hat. The specification sheet illustrates two versions of the logo that are approved for dark colored apparel, four versions are approved for medium colored apparel and two versions are approved for white or light colored apparel. The apparel itself can be any style and color (hats, shirts, jackets, duffle bags, golf towels, etc.) and the logo can appear anywhere on the article that’s suitable for imprinting (front chest – left or right, on or off a shirt pocket; sleeve; shirt back-below the collar; etc.). If you have questions, contact our exclusive vendor directly. Even though this is off duty apparel, professionalism must always be displayed when wearing these items (examples: it may not be appropriate to wear logo emblazoned apparel if you are in a bar, or don't wear hats backwards). This logo isn't to be combined with non-Citizen Corps logos.
