Dr. Deep Kiran is working as an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. Prior to this, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich. Also, he has worked as an IRD Early Doc Fellow at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. In 2019, he was awarded the seal of excellence for a project proposal submitted under Horizon 2020's Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions. In 2018, he was awarded the POSOCO Power System Award (PPSA) for excellence in doctoral research in the area of power systems across India. In 2017, he was awarded the first rank in a poster presentation competition conducted by the Electrical Engineering Society, IIT Delhi. In 2015, he won the best paper award in the National Conference on Recent Trends in Power Engineering held at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
Dr. Deep received his B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT University), Vellore in 2010, M.Tech. in Power Systems from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli in 2012 and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2018. He has accumulated experience as a researcher on Indian government projects of Rajasthan Vidhyut Prasaran Nigam Limited and Central Electricity Regulatory Commission. His main research interests include power system deregulation, power system optimization, power system analysis, power system flexibility and network clustering.
01/01/2022: I am looking for one Junior Research Fellow for the Department of Science & Technology (DST, GoI) sponsored project. The project deals with the issues of electricity data privacy in smart grids based on a consumer's cybersecurity and privacy preferences.
