On september 8, Rodrigo Saramago defended his MSc dissertation titled "Implementation and Evaluation of Collision-Fast Atomic Broadcast". Besides building a framework for evaluating agreement protocols other than CFABCast, Rodrigo has also proposed the first byzantine protocol that is, eventually, collision fast. He has conjectured that no protocol could, in fact, be collision fast under the possibility of byzantine failures. Congratulations, Rodrigo. The final version of his dissertation will soon be posted here.
